Plan a literary Paris weekend

A smaller itinerary gives you more time for the bookshops, streets and pauses that make the trip yours.

Start with two neighbourhood days

Choose a Left Bank day and a Montmartre day rather than repeatedly crossing Paris to tick off scattered places. Keep arrival and departure time outside the sightseeing plan.

  1. Give the Left Bank room

Combine a bookshop stop, the river and a café break. Confirm the places you want to enter before fixing the order.

  2. Make Montmartre a separate chapter

Allow time for its streets and changes in level. The literary hotel Marcel Aymé offers a relevant accommodation candidate to investigate.

  3. Choose the base after the route

Compare a Left Bank stay with a Right Bank literary hotel. Price the journeys as well as the room.

Three checks before booking
  • How will you reach the hotel with luggage?
  • Which day needs the most cross-city travel?
  • Are the room and cancellation terms identical on both platforms?

Leave something unplanned

A literary weekend benefits from a little spare time. An interesting bookshop or a comfortable café can be worth an hour that was never assigned to a landmark.
